Haddy turned 2 on Januray 28th! We can't believe we have been parents for 2+ years now, time has gone so fast! And yet it seems like she's been in our lives forever. We are so madly in love with our little girl, and I feel so completely blessed to be able to stay home and be the one to raise her. Some days she is extra loveable and tells me she loves me and is constantly hugging and kissing me! I love these days! Some days she is moody and grumpy and throws a fit about everything, and even though these days are more difficult, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
She usually ends up in time out for throwing a fit about something trivial, and we make her sit there until she's able to be nice and sweet and happy. We always ask her "are you ready to be happy now?" And when she is ready, she hops off the chair as if she hadn't been crying and screaming a few seconds earlier, runs up to us and gives us a big hug and kiss and says "I happy now!" She is such a little sweetheart and I love being a mom!
A few things about Haddy at age two:
Favorite food: FRUIT! It's not often you her a mom saying "You can have an apple only after you finish your pizza" or something similar. If she even knows there is fruit available, she won't eat her main meal item (even if it's something delicious like pizza), so I have to give her a sandwich or whatever else it is we're eating for that particular meal, and once she's all done with it, then I give her some fruit because I know she'll eat the fruit no matter what.
Favorite show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Thanks to our friends Kara and Nic, whose daughter loves this show, Haddy has also come to love Mickey Mouse! She sings the song at the beginning, does the "hot dog dance" at the end, and knows which episodes she likes best (Dr. Daisy is her all-time favorite!). It's so fun to see her get so excited if she sees something with Mickey Mouse on it!
A few other tidbits about our little toddler:
- She LOVES to jump! And her Doctor said jumping is the best thing she can do to help her hip form how it's supposed to (there's a 50% chance she'll need surgery again sometime next year), so we encourage the bed jumping and such.
- She is polite to a fault! She always says please when asking for something, and she says thank you most of the time. She is such a sweetheart.
- She loves to dance! She knows how to turn the radio on in her room and she loves to just dance around, and I must say she's got some pretty awesome moves!
- One of her favorite activities, besides jumping, is coloring. She is ALWAYS wanting to color! I love seeing her be creative and use the different colors. She'll always draw some random squiggle, and then tell me it's an earring, or a shoe, or an elephant, or something random. She is just so funny!
- She loves her grandparents! We are so blessed that our daughter has such loving family in all directions, and she loves her grandparents on both sides so much! My parents are Paco and Grandma, and Justin's parent's are Grammy and Papa.
We love our Haddy. She is our world. She has so much personality but also such a sweetness to her. Being a stay-at-home mom is not always the easiest thing, but I would never willingly give it up. Our lives aren't perfect, but I sure feel like our little family is. Justin is such an amazing dad, and Haddy is crazy about him. I feel like everything else in our lives could be going horribly wrong, but as long as we have each other and time to spend together, this life would still be wonderful.
Haddy is our little angel and we are happy to have celebrated her 2nd birthday.
