Girls everywhere!

Bum shot!

Well we found out yesterday we will be adding some more estrogen to our family, and I couldn't be more excited about it!!! I wanted another girl so bad, and I was all smiles when we found out. I was so excited the entire day in fact, that I even offered to wash the dishes for my husband!! This is crazy because I HATE washing dishes...more than anything.
Anyways, we thought Haddy would be disappointed to find out it was a girl, because she was convinced we were having a boy. She even named it Gus....but she's adapted and has re-named our unborn child Peach Drink...Peach for short. So, we'll see if that sticks come March when the baby is due...

As far as Barton updates go, Justin started a new job in June with Salt Lake Community College, and is loving it and thriving so far. But other than that and the baby, we are just doing the same old thing! Here are a few pictures to catch you up on the Barton clan:
I don't know why, I just really love this picture and had to include it...

This picture I think defines "childhood summer"... the ranch

"The Train" in Heber after the ranch

Lagoon!!

We got passes to Thanksgiving Point and have been loving it!

The splash pad at Thanksgiving Point

The always classy and popular Jungle Jim's when Jenna and her family came to visit
The July Children's parade, Haddy had fun decorating her bike!

Potty-trained!

I was beginning to think I was going to be sending my child to school in diapers. Seriously. We tried potty-training once before and it was a big-time fail. I kept thinking "I'm just going to let her decide when she's ready" but I think if I'd done that she really WOULD have been going to school in diapers. She needed a bit of motivation....and it came in the form of a big, fat, painful blister on her butt! Here's the story...
So one day Haddy starts crying and saying she wants me to put some medicine on her bum. She HATES it when I put medicine on her, so I knew she had to be in pain. I put the medicine on and told her that her diaper is what caused the blister, and if she wore her undies it would help it feel better. She said OK, but I told her she could NOT pee in her undies. And that was that. I couldn't believe how easy it was!
She still fights me every morning when I tell her she has to put on her undies, but then once they're on she does great. We had to buy additional My Little Pony undies though, because she wouldn't wear the monkey ones I found on clearance and bought two packages of...but it's well worth it!
Just look at that darling potty-trained face! She got this crown when she finally pooped in the potty, that took a little bit longer.

DISNEYLAND AHHHH!!!!!

Yes, we had been planning this trip for well over a year. We'd tell people "Yeah, we're planning a Disneyland trip!" and they'd say "Oh cool! When?" and then we'd say "Oh, maybe December or January" and then they'd say "That's so soon!" and then we'd say "Oh not this coming December/January, the NEXT one..." and they'd be all like "Oh...that's a ways away" and we'd say "well Disneyland is expensive yo!" except we probably didn't actually say 'yo.' So the point being: we'd been looking forward to this and saving up for it for a while. And it finally came to pass! Here are our happy pictures!

We started the vaca by going and visiting my brother Brian who lives in L.A. Even though it was January, they were having a heat wave and it was warm enough to play at the beach!

Hanging out at the Long Beach pier.

Oh, just tying up my person Yacht. No big.

Shopping at the pier, and here we see an Indian store! And an Indian statue.

Haddy was tired and the sun was in her eyes, so she put my hat on her face and fell asleep...

Magic Kingdom!

Turns out Cinderella's castle is NOT at Disneyland....it's at Disneyworld. I was a little disappointed in the smallness of this castle, but it was cool nonetheless!

If tipping the characters was a thing, the person playing Pluto would've gotten a big one! He was so stinking cute with Haddy, she thought he was the best thing in the world!!

Best part of Disneyland for a tired parent is the amphitheaters! Get yourself a sugary treat, and sit in the shade for a half hour or so while your kid is entertained by singing and dancing Disney characters.

Haddy's birthday was the next week so we let her pick out a toy from the Disney store and she picked good ol' Winnie the Pooh!

Our hotel was AWESOME! I would recommend it to anyone. We got to eat breakfast everyday in this beautiful setting! Plus our room had a kitchenette, and a separate living room with a fold-out couch where Haddy slept.

Swimming!

This vacation rocked. Disneyland is so exhausting though....but looking back (now that I'm not actually AT Disneyland, hot and tired) I think it's safe to say we will return.
