Christmas 2012

Christmas this year was so fun! Having a kid definitely makes the holidays seem more magical, and this Christmas was no exception!
We started off by heading up to Justin's parent's cabin in Timber Lakes. It was beautiful up there and one of the days we went sledding, which Haddy loved! And I loved it too, because instead of having to walk back up the hill, we were pulled back up on the sled by a 4-wheeler! Lazy sledding is the funnest :)  Haddy also enjoys the swing next to the Fort!

Christmas morning we woke up and, of course, opened presents. Or attempted to at least....Haddy wasn't too big of a fan of the present opening. She'd open one, see a new toy for her to play with, get excited, and then freak out as we took it away and handed her another present to unwrap.... She was a bit grumpy. Here are a few more pictures from the cabin.
I'm SO in love with that face!!

Grammy and cousin Annalee! Haddy had just been outside in the snow, can you tell?

Opening presents!

Justin's handyman work! Christmas day always has "some assembly required"

Haddy coloring on her new "cabin box" that converts into a little table.

That afternoon we had an early dinner with all of Justin's family, then headed back down to Sandy to spend the rest of Christmas at my parent's. More present opening for Haddy. We did learn one valuable bit of information though...Haddy apparently *knows* everything in the world is her possession, and when her cousin Isla would go play with her own toy, Haddy would FREAK OUT!! She'd be totally uninterested until Isla became interested. Then we'd all get mad at Haddy for taking everything away from Isla, so then she got her feelings hurt. Needless to say she just really needed to go to bed. (Note: there are a lot more pictures here because Jenna was in charge of taking them. When Justin or I are in charge of taking pictures, few get taken, and we are lucky if any get taken.)
Let the festivities begin!

Christmas jammies!

As our family increases, so do the number of presents under (and nearish) the tree!

Grandma and Isla!

THREE crazy dogs in one house.

What Haddy was doing when she wasn't being jealous of something Isla was playing with.

Jenna's look of shock and awe and she unwraps my gift (it wasn't popcorn...I'd been saving boxes for a couple months before Christmas)

The coveted toy! Isla's gift from her parents, and Haddy's cause for breakdown...

I can just hear her screaming "MINE!!"

It WAS a pretty cool toy though...

My Little Pony train?! She loves this thing.

I'm sad this is the best picture I have of Jenna's quiet book she helped make for Isla, the thing is AMAZING!

Yes, Justin was there too.

So we were told we were all supposed to get into our matching jammies and take a picture. Apparently the Barton family is the only one who knows how to follow orders...

And there was a happy face in the end after all!
